Hibiscus bacilliform virus GD1. Систематика: Viruses->Retro-transcribing viruses->Caulimoviridae->Badnavirus.

Носителем генома является двуцепочечная РНК. Вирус относится к ретровирусам, то есть после попадания генома вируса в цитоплазму клетки-хозяина с помощью фермента ревертазы(обратной транскриптазы) на этой РНК как на матрице синтезируется одна цепь ДНК, на ней синтезируется комплементарная ей цепь ДНК, и готовая двуцепочечная ДНК встраивается в ДНК клетки хозяина во время её деления, когда этому не препятствует ядерная оболочка.
Геном вируса содержит четыре гена, по два на каждой из цепей РНК, сводная информация по которым представлена в таблице ниже:
