Maltose ABC transporter substrate-binding protein description and it's genome neighbourhood

Main Information

This periplasmic protein is a part of bacteria's Maltose/Maltodextrin System, it's gene's name is "MalE". Protein binds and transports maltose[0] inside the cell using ATP[1]. It's sequence is represented in Insertion 1, it's main characteristics are shown in Table 1. As you can learn from Table 2, neighbourhood genes (Fig. 1) are also involved in Maltose/Maltodextrin System.
